AS amazing, durable and expensive as quality oil is ...... NO oil or lubrication is worth a hoot with out quality filtration. Part of a lubricant's job is to clean, or keep clean, the engine it's used in.
As it passes through out the engine the oil washes minute particles of un-burned fuel (hydrocarbons), and wear particles from moving parts, silicates and other minute matter sucked in through the air filter back to the oil pan to be picked up (sucked-up by the oil pump), filtered and circulated through out the engine, as long as the engine is running.
Most "economy" filters barely remove the larger particles and don't last very long filtration wise. You can tell by how fast the oil is dirty after a change.
