FUEL ADDITIVES
Dirty words in some circles. But none the less much needed. While fuel manufacturers do include cleansers in their pump fuel it doesn't always meet the end users immediate needs. Think....does everyone change plugs every 2 years or their oil every 3000 - 5000 miles or do a few ( or more ) kind of exceed the intervals?
And yes....there is fuel formulated for winter driving temperatures and summer temps, usually blended for the location they're sold / used in.
Simply because the manufacturers cannot economically meet the needs of everyone, everywhere, all the time, the need for "addiives" arises. These jewels are formulated to meet fairly specific needs....... and they do it well.
As you notice, the diesel users need the most help. Mostly due to the nature of the fuel and how it's made and how it performs in a combustion chamber. The additives listed help improve the combustability, flowability, cleaning ability and wear rate of associated fuel system components. Think injectors and fuel pumps on diesels. Some are rather expensive to replace.
Using the gas and diesel additives listed assist the user in reducing wear, hard starting, rough running, and increase fuel efficiency.
